In this series, Pastor Marty looks at the actual hard statistics on marriage that are inspiring and hopeful! This is not only for those who are married, but for anyone else as he explains principles that affect all relationships.
In this series, we’ll discuss five faith catalysts that God uses to build the kind of faith we all want deep down. These catalysts (providential relationships, practical teaching, private disciplines, personal ministry and pivotal circumstances) cause Spiritual chain-reactions in our lives.
Why does God place such a high value on our worship? Why do we sing? How do I worship outside of Sundays? How do I worship in difficult circumstance? Our pastoral Pstaff will be Psharing their perspectives out of Pseveral Pscriptures found right in the book of Psalms as we look to answer many of these questions and see how the answers will transform our lives.
Listen in as we explore the foundations and the basic tenets of our faith as Christians. As we sometimes get lost in attending church, our identity as The Church fades into the background. This series will be a great refresher for those who have been Christians for years, a great next step for those new in our faith and a great insight for those wanting to know more about the followers of Jesus & what it means to become a Christian.
What does His signature look like? Not a font or fashion sense… but what does it look like to have Jesus in our lives? For those who call him God and even for those who don't, what could it look like? How could it change a person? How should it change a person?
Where do you want to be in life? with your spouse? your friends? your finances? with God? We all want to reach the "next level," but how? And what does that even mean? When founded on the Word of God, "next level" thinking begins by going deeper with Christ and leads to personal transformation, inspiring generosity, willing service, and rich relationships. So where are you and where do you want to be?
We all have a perspective of what God is, or what he is not. We envision a tyrant, a force of nature, a source of comfort, a provider, a healer, or perhaps an enforcer of justice. There are even some who would say that there is no God at all. But what if we could REIMAGINE God? What if we could REIMAGINE life with God: our work, our play, our love, our worship, and our friends?
In this series Pastor Marty reminds us of the truly miraculous ways that God prepared the world for the arrival of His Son, Jesus. He gives us tools to not enjoy the busy activity of this season while experiencing the true miracle of Christmas.
As Christians we are called to fish... but not for fish. Jesus told his first disciples, "I will make you fishers of men," but what does that mean for us as disciples today? It's pretty similar to what Jesus meant then.
Music is a powerful component to our lives, often providing a soundtrack playing in the background of lives. Music, specifically lyrics, express what’s inside us in ways that speaking often cannot. Pride, sadness, anger, love, passion, sorrow, and grief…these are just some of the emotions music can express. Christmas music gives words for one of the most important celebrations for the Christian; the arrival of our Savior on this earth and the promise of Salvation. Join us as we look at some familiar Christmas Carols, what they mean and how they can express our hearts to our Savior.
Various members of The Sanctuary's congregation and other guest speakers share their own devotional perspective on what Communion means to them.
Everyday we watch our friends, coworkers, family members, and the various bystanders in life. Everyday we make judgments on one another based what it is that we see. As followers of Christ we need to pay attention to the question: "Who is watching you?" Join in as our Youth Pastor, Ricky Stoner, teaches us the importance of watching what we do, in order to impact those people watching us for Christ.
Many of us feel stunted in our growth. Are we where we want to be in life? with God? with our families? We beat ourselves up over our failures and, in the process, pull away from God because we subconsciously believe He tallies our defects and hangs His head in disappointment. Nothing could be further from the truth! The Father calls to us with a "furious love" that burns brightly and constantly. Only when we truly embrace God's grace can we bask in the Good News that saves the most needy of us - the least, the last, the lost... you and me!
Many wake up in the morning with a sense that something just isn't quite right - a feeling that they haven't quite done enough, prayed enough, or confessed enough to make themselves worthy of anything, let alone God's love. In this biblically rich, but highly accessible series, we hear from our guest Daniel Brown on how all people can overcome their low grade guilt and rediscover or discover for the first time the liberating, all-in grace that Christ promised us through His death and resurrection. In this 4-part series, Brown provides a clear overview of Law and Grace, and how God has provided both, not to point out what we are doing wrong, but to help us more fully live in the love He has given to us.
In this series on the Church, we will look at the history of the Church and the strategies for becoming a church that unchurched people love to attend! It is our desire, and a goal of The Sanctuary, to create weekend experiences so compelling and helpful that even the most skeptical individuals in our community would walk away with every intention of returning the following week...with a friend! When we go DEEP and WIDE, we begin to fall in love with the Author of Scripture. And while we can't make anyone fall in love, we can certainly arrange a date. We'll grow in our understanding of why the importance of teaching all audiences doesn't require a 'dumbing down' of the Good News, but rather adjusting our approach to reach the unreached. Let's become more concerned with who we are reaching rather than just those we are keeping.
You can’t turn on the news without becoming aware that things aren’t going so well in the good ole USA. What’s worse, it seems that those who lead us can’t agree on how to change things. While politicians frame the debate as rich vs. poor, big business vs. the middle class, or Republican vs. Democrat, there is another conflict that reflects a much deeper divide in American culture — a conflict that, if resolved, could bring our nation together to address the issues that fill the airwaves. And what is that conflict? Listen into God & Country to find out.
One of the things that we all have in common as it relates to time is we are almost always, always, always, in our culture, conscious of what time it is—because of our watches, because of our cell phones, and if you are in school, because there is always a clock on the wall. Half a dozen times a day or a dozen times a day you check to see what time it is. In fact, one of the most common questions, maybe the most common question you ask about time is "what time is it?" In January we're looking at what God says about our time - how we use it, who it belongs to and why we have it to begin with.
What would happen if every follower of Jesus took the Great Commandment literally?
Is it possible that the solution to our society’s biggest issues has been right under our noses for the past two thousand years? Most of us have turned this simple idea of loving our neighbors into a nice saying, putting it on bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets and then going on with our lives without really putting it into practice.
It’s time to be the community within the community.
God designed us to worship. Why is important, and what, but also how. Join us as we learn to come into His presence daily.
Why does spiritual growth and maturity seem so difficult? We’re not just saved by grace, but able to live by grace, flourishing with the Spirit flowing through us. The Bible is a powerful operator's manual for building a Spirit-filled life in a world where perfection can only be found in God's loving vision for living. Flowing in the Spirit will help us circumvent real-world barriers---pain and sorrow, temptations, self-doubt, sin---so we can flourish even in a dark and broken world.
There's NO win in COMPARISON. Let's face it. Not a day goes by that we're not tempted to glance to the left and to the right to see how we measure up to the people around us. But it doesn't stop there, does it? We're tempted to compare our children to other children, our spouse to other spouses! It's frustrating... It's exhausting... It's a TRAP!
Discover the guiding biblical principles of managing money that can change our relationships, our view of money and even our relationship with God. Let’s learn together how to find where we are financially and how to get to where we want to be.
This series gives practical application on how to "Be God's" - possessive - "Be His." When we live out our position as belonging to God, being loved and cared for by God, our lives radically change. When we embrace His acceptance, forgiveness and care for us, we can walk out with others what it means to live as loved.
There's nothing religious about the Good News of Jesus' "radical love" for us. This Easter week, as Pastor Marty goes through the Scriptures about Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, let the reality of the Good News soak in.
