Frequently Asked Questions
How much will the renovations cost and how will it be paid for?
The project will cost $2.1 million and will be paid for using $300,000 from our general operating fund and $1.8 million through financing a 20-year term loan (that we anticipate paying off early).
When will construction begin and how long will it last?
Renovations will begin in the Spring of 2019 and last six to nine months.
What would happen if we didn’t address our campus challenges?
We would risk losing individuals and families who feel the audio quality in our main auditorium (Father’s House) is too harsh or too muffled to enjoy, and choose to leave.
We would risk people not finding conducive space on our campus to connect with people and find community (necessary steps that we have found to be key in finding meaningful/lasting Christian relationships and living a thriving life of faith).
We would risk not cultivating tomorrow’s tools for tomorrow’s harvest by not addressing aging infrastructure and failing to significantly empower the ministry and evangelistic efforts of The Sanctuary for the Santa Clarita of 10+ years from now.
We would risk missing the opportunity to further expand our reach and influence in Santa Clarita (and specifically Canyon Country) through providing an enhanced venue for strategic community and civic partnerships.
Why do a vision campaign? Why not just announce that we need additional funds to renovate?
Although funding is important, the More vision campaign is not about rooms and buildings. Our goal is to more effectively reach into our community, lead people to Christ, help them find supportive relationships and experience transformation. In This campaign is about the spiritual growth of those who call The Sanctuary their home and participating in God’s eternal work. This is a pivotal time in The Sanctuary’s history, and we want to include as many people as possible in the process.
How will the money we raise be used?
All of the designated funds we receive will be used for two purposes: (1) Renovating our campus to better facilitate evangelism, growth and community. (2) Resourcing outreach efforts to bring the Good News to our community. We will not use campaign funds to support our normal operating budget so your pledge toward the More vision campaign is over and beyond your normal giving.
How long will the More vision campaign last?
Pledges will be welcomed and received for the duration of the construction loan. We are asking our congregation to prayerfully consider this project and commit towards a giving strategy for a minimum of three years.
