Missions

living on mission

At The Sanctuary we believe that all Christians are on mission for Jesus. Some of us travel around the world, some work hard in our own countries to resource those traveling, some go on short term trips to foreign countries, some serve locally at a food pantry or homeless shelter, but no matter how it looks, we're all called to give, pray, and to go serve somewhere.

OUR JULY FOCUS
Missionaries to Ethiopia & Thailand //
Sharing the Gospel & Rescuing Kids

We are excited to have the opportunity to celebrate two amazing families with roots at The Sanctuary who are making a big impact in our world! All of July, we are partnering with the Millar and Jennerson families by giving our finances, beyond the tithe, to empower their efforts to see people abroad transformed by the love of God and saved from despair.

The Millars

Jesse and Haley are missionaries to Ethiopia, called to spark "a missional movement from Ethiopia to Africa and the rest of the world." Over the last 4 years, they have served as International Pastors at Beza International Church in Addis Ababa, the capital and largest city of Ethiopia. With over 60 small groups throughout the city, Jesse and Haley are equipping the believers to realize their identity in Christ and become beacons of light in a darkened world. That from Ethiopia missionaries will be raised up and sent out bearing the good news of Jesus’ freedom to all. In one of the poorest countries on the globe, they are prophetically declaring that "Africa will Arise"— that the hands of begging will turn into the hands of blessing. Jesse and Haley are currently overseeing the writing of a nine book discipleship curriculum to be used in their church and others across Africa.

Among the many joys of raising two kids (Zayma 2, Alister 8 weeks), Jesse enjoys playing music and writing, while Haley enjoys life most when she is running, biking, or playing soccer.

The Jennersons

Cole and Abigail work with ZOE International in ChiangMai, located in the northern part of Thailand. Operating in five countries, ZOE International has two main goals; reach every person with the Gospel and Love of Jesus Christ and to rescue every child from human trafficking worldwide.

Having served in Thailand just over two years, The Jennersons are active in expanding the impact of ZOE. Cole helps with international fundraising efforts through videos and photos, while working heavily with the Thailand team in government relations and internal media needs. Abigail, wears many different hats at ZOE Thailand, including: working in the media department with Cole (capturing photos that tell stories about the life transformation that is happening in the lives of the kids ZOE rescues), teaching hospitality and barista coffee skills that ZOE young adults can use (to find sustainable work in the city in their future), and serving with the NextGen Ministry Team overseeing Jr. High weekly services & small groups (where she helps put on camps, events and disciple young people).

Benefits

why online giving is worth it

Benefits

why online giving is worth it

At The Sanctuary we understand that the sacrifice you bring to God through your time, your finances and your gifts & abilities is just that -- a sacrifice.  As a result we want to make giving as simple as possible for you. There are several benefits to online giving:

First Fruits - In Proverbs 3:9 we are taught to honor the Lord with the "first fruits" of our labor. By setting up a recurring contribution, scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your First Fruits are given back to God for His continued ministry in our church and our community. To gain a deeper understanding of the Biblical principles of giving, we invite you to download our free reader “Giving at The Sanctuary ~ Offering Our Lives to Reach A Community."

Simplicity & Practicality - You will not need to remember if you gave tithes/offerings this month or mail your offering checks when you are out of town.

No Distractions - Instead of worrying about writing a check during our services and events, you can be fully engaged in your participation, knowing that you have already given your offering.

Info & Records - With your private login, you can conveniently view and print a detailed history of your contributions at any time.

Efficiency - If you desire, you can choose to give without the login process... AND you will still have the benefit of specific records.

FAQ

FAQ

Q: Is it safe to give online?

Yes. In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check because an electronic contribution cannot be lost or stolen. The security of the system is continually managed by a trusted organization called Fellowship One.

Q: What types of bank accounts can I give from?

You can give online from your checking account (e-check or debit check card), MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. Please note: Based on instruction from Scripture, we strongly discourage any giving that results in the incurring of debt (i.e. credit card giving that is not able to be paid off, in full, on a monthly basis).

Q: Are there any fees involved with giving online?

Not to you. You will not pay any fees with an online contribution. In addition, online giving is a more cost efficient way for the church to process contributions.

Q: Do I have to create an account to give?

Not at all. Through our giving portal you can choose to login and set up an account or you can simply give your name and email along with you payment information... and yes, you will still receive a donation statement at the end of each year you give this way.

Q: Can I make a one-time contribution?

Yes. The system allows you the option of either making a one-time contribution or setting up a recurring contribution. For a one-time contribution, you can designate that the contribution should be made immediately or, for both one-time and recurring contributions, you can schedule the contributions to come out of your bank account or charge to your credit card on the date(s) specified by you.

Q: If I want to set-up a recurring contribution, what are my options for frequency of my giving?

For recurring contributions, you have the option of giving weekly, twice a month, every two weeks or once a month.

Q: Can I change my personal information or the amount or the frequency of my contribution once I have set it up?

Yes. You can change or cancel your contribution at any time before the date of your next contribution. Simply log in to the system using your user name and password and make the necessary changes in the system.

Q: Can I review my giving history online?

Yes. The site will allow you to view the complete history of your contributions, given either online or otherwise. Once you’ve created an account, you will able to contribute immediately. For more information, see our security policy.

Q: Will I still receive regular contribution statements from the church?

Yes. The church will continue to send year-end contribution statements to your address on file for tax purposes.

Q: When will contributions be taken from my account?

Contributions will be taken from your specified bank account within 48 business hours of the date you requested. This time frame allows time for the contribution to process through your bank and the church’s bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day.

Q: Can I designate my contribution to a particular cause?

Yes, you can designate your contribution to go toward tithes and other designated offerings.

Q: How will I know that I set up my contribution correctly?

After submitting your contribution, you will receive an e-mail verifying your contribution.

Q: Does it matter which Internet browser I use?

No. Any browser will work.

Q: Will I be able to give to special The Sanctuary focal points & campaigns (camp scholarships, missions scholarships, building projects, etc.) online?

During times when these campaigns are occurring, you will be able to give a one-time contribution to support the given focal point.

Q: I have additional questions about online giving that have not been addressed. Who can I talk to?

For any questions, concerns or comments about the online giving system, please contact us at finance@TheSanctuaryChurch.com. You will receive a response from our staff as soon as possible.

Q: What types of bank accounts can I give from?

You can give online from your bank account via an ACH transaction. You can also give using MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.

Q. Can I use a debit card?

You can use a debit check card from Visa or MasterCard, but true debit cards are not accepted through the system due to the sensitivity of securely requesting a Personal Identification Number (PIN). ACH bank drafts can be used instead for true debits.
