A local Pastor has recently given his entire congregation the summer off.
This began from a recent survey about how the church could improve the service, 81% of the congregants marked “other” and wrote in that they would like the church to provide “the ocean and a surfboard.”
Do you remember when Netflix started streaming video? Back then it seemed ridiculous, who wants to sit at their computer and watch a movie when I could watch a DVD on my TV?
For some it feels like that season is never ending, like the darkness is creeping in and the light in your family is fading away. Your kids also experience these seasons of trial.
What is the purpose of marriage? To some, it is "a private relationship," "just a piece of paper," or "any two people who love each other," but could it be more?
The strength of any fabric — from the sheerest muslins to the sturdiest upholstery — is its pattern of tightly woven threads. Could marriage be a pattern then, that strengthens the fabric of society?
“The church is my family”…I’ve heard this and I think I believe it, but… if that’s true then I’ve got a problem… My church is not my family.
We are the Church. You and I are the church. Yet, we are imperfect, therefore the Church is imperfect.
It is tempting for us to pursue the “perfect church” with the “perfect worship” and the “perfect sermon,” but that will ALWAYS leave us discontent, because that means we are apart of it and we are imperfect.
It’s not about going to the “perfect church"...
Church. The word alone conjures a wide array of emotions and responses. Many love God, love Jesus, but church? Not necessarily so much.
For many, church has not lived up to it’s billing.
Though our council serves behind the scenes, they represent our congregation in a big way. Because they are an important part of our community, and since we are confirming these new council members, one might wonder who they are.
