Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it…
— 2 Corinthians 8:11

Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in the middle?

Sometimes it’s the middle of a season in life that we long to see completed.

Other times it’s the middle of a trial that we have been believing for a victory.

The middle is the place where all tend to get tired and quitting becomes an option we never thought we would consider.

At the start line I see the challenge ahead of me as a small hill.  I confidently venture forward, certain that God Himself will help me climb straight to the top.

Then time passes, resistance presses against me, disappointment discourages my heart.

After quite a few unexpected twists and turns I look up to find myself feeling stuck in the middle.  The finish line that once seemed within reach is now just a blurred memory as I reach for hope I can only find in Him.

My patient and loving Jesus walks every painful step with me through the middle until the blurred memory of the finish becomes a beacon of light to encourage me to press on.

If you ever find yourself feeling stuck in the middle of something in life, just lift your arms in surrender to the One who always has the finish line in clear view.  Find your rest in Him, knowing that He always finishes what He starts and let His strength carry you home.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
