This month, I celebrate 12 years as the leader of Girls Like Me Women’s Ministries. Over the course of the past 12 years, I have seen a lot of changes: the frequency of our yearly meetings changed, themes have changed, carefully laid out plans for an event have suddenly changed, even the many faces within our group have changed. Despite all of the change, the one thing that remains is the vision that has been the foundation of everything we do in Girls Like Me.
“Girls of all ages, celebrating the feminine heart by sharing real life together, fully embracing God’s love and truth.”
All women are welcome – young and old. Whether you’re 12 or 112, we want you there! As women our needs are unique and different than our male counterparts, and because of that, it’s important to come together and embrace those distinctive qualities by getting ‘real’ with one another.
This year, Girls Like Me will be putting a greater emphasis on the importance of small groups. Here at The Sanctuary, we encourage everyone to get together with other believers of the same gender into what we call Growth Groups. Growth Groups are made up of 2-3 individuals who meet together regularly to help them grow and fulfill their God-given purpose.
Our times together create an opportunity for women to meet other like-minded women who can help them grow in their faith. Take advantage of this opportunity!
Our first event, will be taking place on this Friday, February 20th, starting at 7pm. We’ll gather first in the Hospitality Room to enjoy some dessert together before we convene in the Father’s House for a special video, discussion groups, and a time of worship.
Sign up online (www.thesanctuarychurch.com/girlslikeme) or at our Welcome Center to let us know you’re coming!
In spite of all the things that change, one thing remains the same — no matter how old you are or where you’re from —we’re all better together!
